Description

The Pentair U9-226 is the OEM replacement diffuser O-ring for the JWP and JWPA aboveground pump series, PLM aboveground cartridge filter systems, and the Waterford sand filter system valve — including DURAGLAS and MAXIGLAS filter configurations.

⚠️ IMPORTANT: LUBRICATION REQUIRED — SOLD SEPARATELY
Always lubricate this O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

This O-ring seals the diffuser assembly within the pump, maintaining the pressure differential that drives water through the impeller. A degraded or cracked diffuser O-ring allows water to bypass the impeller, reducing flow and pump efficiency. Replacing it restores the seal and full hydraulic performance. Match the part number stamped on your existing O-ring before ordering.

Pro Tip

Before installation, apply a thin coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard® Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. This helps seat it evenly, prevents tearing during assembly, and extends service life. Never use petroleum-based lubricants — they will degrade the rubber and cause premature failure.
