Application Guidelines

The PS-1000 Basic Service seal is specifically designed for traditional chlorine pool applications using single-speed pumps. Buna elastomers provide excellent chlorine resistance and reliable performance in standard residential pools operating at normal temperatures. This seal offers a cost-effective solution for pool owners prioritizing basic leak protection over advanced material performance.

Important Application Limitations: This seal is NOT recommended for salt water pools, ozone systems, UV applications, or variable-speed pumps. These applications generate higher operating temperatures, longer run cycles, or corrosive conditions that exceed Buna material capabilities. For these advanced applications, upgrade to a Premier Viton® Service seal such as PS-3865R.
