Description

The Pentair Trap Cover Assembly (17307-0111S) is the OEM replacement strainer pot lid assembly for the IntelliPro, Max-E-Pro, Max-E-Pro DOE, and Dyna-Pro / Dyna-Pro E pump series. This assembly includes the Trap Cover, Trap Ring, and Trap Cover O-Ring — everything needed to restore a complete, watertight seal at the pump strainer pot.

This assembly includes a Trap Cover O-Ring. Always lubricate the O-ring with a silicone-based lubricant before installation. We carry the Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant — the OEM-matched product for Pentair equipment.

IMPORTANT: MODEL VERSION — INTELLIPRO COMPATIBILITY
The IntelliPro Variable Speed Pump (model number INTELLIPRO) is compatible with this assembly only on units manufactured before 2019. If your IntelliPro was manufactured in 2019 or later, verify your model number against the Fits Into table or your equipment manual before ordering.

The trap cover assembly seals the strainer pot on your pump, allowing you to access and clear the debris basket while maintaining a pressure-tight closure during operation. A cracked, warped, or leaking trap cover causes air ingestion, loss of prime, and reduced pump performance. Replacing the complete assembly — cover, locking ring, and O-ring together — ensures a proper seal and eliminates the guesswork of sourcing individual components separately.

The Trap Cover O-Ring included in this assembly is the most common source of air leaks at the strainer pot. Before installing, clean the O-ring seating groove thoroughly to remove any debris or old lubricant residue, then apply a thin, even coat of Pentair R172351 Lifeguard Silicone Lubricant to the O-ring. Never use petroleum-based products — they degrade rubber O-rings and will cause the seal to fail prematurely. Hand-tighten the trap ring only; over-torquing can crack the cover or distort the ring seat.
