The Pentair Quartz Sleeve 65″ (523042) is the OEM replacement quartz sleeve for the BioShield UV System 150 Watt sanitizer units. This is the protective quartz tube that surrounds the UV lamp inside the BioShield chamber, and it is sold individually as a single sleeve.

What It Does

The quartz sleeve acts as a transparent barrier between the UV lamp and the water flowing through the sanitizer chamber. Quartz transmits UV-C light with minimal attenuation, allowing the lamp to deliver its full germicidal output to the water stream. Over time, mineral scale and biofilm accumulation on the sleeve surface reduce UV transmission efficiency — a fouled or cracked sleeve directly compromises sanitizer performance. Replacing a damaged or scaled sleeve restores the system to its rated UV output.
