Description

The Pentair Clamp Knob (175025Z) is the OEM replacement knob for the strainer housing clamp assembly on the Challenger High Flow inground pump series. This knob is designed specifically for clamps fitted with a captured T-bolt.

It is not interchangeable with standard clamp knob configurations.

What It Does

The clamp knob secures the strainer housing clamp on the Challenger High Flow pump, allowing the strainer pot lid to be tightened and released without tools. A worn, cracked, or stripped knob makes it difficult to achieve a proper seal at the strainer housing, which can result in air ingestion and loss of prime. Replacing the knob restores hand-tightening capability and a reliable housing seal.

Pro Tip

Before ordering, confirm that your Challenger pump’s strainer housing clamp uses a captured T-bolt. The T-bolt is retained within the clamp body and does not separate when the knob is removed. If your clamp uses a standard (non-captured) bolt configuration, this knob will not fit. The clamp type is visible when the strainer pot is open; check the existing knob and bolt assembly against your pump’s parts diagram to confirm compatibility before adding to cart.
