What is monopersulfate? Potassium monopersulfate is a non-chlorine oxidizer for pools and spas that helps clear water by destroying organic contaminants and combined chlorine, but it does not sanitize or kill algae. It is an excellent choice for shocking a pool before a party, as it allows for a short wait to swim, or for use in hot tubs and alongside other sanitizers, like bromine. It is compatible with most pool and spa systems, but it’s important to note that it will lower the pool’s total alkalinity and increase total dissolved solids (TDS).
